Deep solar- in ground geothermal heat pump system

Introduction

The patented "In ground geothermal heat pump system" will have a significant impact in the residential Heating, Ventilation, and Cooling (HVAC) market, and will play a primary role in significantly reducing future US energy demand growth.

The purpose of this site is to accentuate the benefits and advantages of the patented "In ground geothermal heat pump system", and to make the case for investment in this important product.

US demand for energy has doubled in 30 years.

Solution
The lowest hanging fruit of energy demand reduction is in the residential and light commercial HVAC sector.

At 50% of residential energy demand, heating and cooling offers the largest target of opportunity for demand reduction.

Deep Solar’s patented "In ground geothermal heat pump system" can cut residential heating and cooling energy demand by more than half, is easier and less costly to install, and is the best HVAC alternative for more than 70 million new and existing homes and buildings.

“Geothermal heat pumps (GHPs), sometimes-called ground-source heat pumps, have been proven capable of producing large reductions in energy use and peak demand in buildings.... Annual savings of 3.4 to 3.9 quads (of nonrenewable primary energy), could be achieved through aggressive deployment of GHPs. GHPs could also avoid the need to build 91 to 105 gigawatts of electricity generation capacity, or 42 to 48 percent of the 218 gigawatts of net new capacity additions projected to be needed nationwide by 2030. In addition, 33 to 38 billion dollars annually in reduced utility bills (at 2006 rates) could be achieved through aggressive deployment of GHPs.” Executive Summary report to DOE ORNL/TM-2008/232 Oak Ridge National Laboratory December 2008
